KD Lady of the Month

Megan Boyd

MARCH'S KD LADY OF THE MONTH

Megan is a sophomore studying Biomedical Engineering here at Purdue University and is the Assistant to our Vice President of Community Service. This semester, she is Co-oping with MED Institute and is getting the opportunity to work on bigger, hands-on projects and interact with the company’s clients as they work with consultants, manufacturers, and developers of medical products through key production phases. Megan is passionate about spending time with her family, friends, and her twin sister; and what makes her happiest is being able to help others around her. Megan chose Purdue mainly for the great engineering program and the Big Ten school atmosphere, but it also helped that both of her parents are graduates of this wonderful institution. One of her favorite Purdue memories growing up was when she and her family were able to attend a football game/tailgate when Drew Brees had come back to campus and had given a speech. Some of Megan’s favorite places on campus include going to the Co-Rec with sisters, spending time at the KD house, and going to Greyhouse (a local coffee shop) to study. A couple of things that she is looking forward to this semester is Shamrock (only 20 more days!!) and she is very excited to see where her Co-op takes her! Fun Facts about Megan: • Bucket list time: travel to see the Northern Lights • A movie that she will never watch twice: Napoleon Dynamite • Irrational fear: spiders This is Megan’s second semester as a sister of Kappa Delta During recruitment, Kappa Delta’s philanthropy especially stood out to Megan. She could tell every girl was very passionate about our philanthropy. Philanthropy was a major contributor as to why she decided to rush. However, Megan knew she was home at 690 Waldron Street during the very last round of recruitment after each sister shared what they brought to Kappa Delta, she knew she would find her own reason why she fit in our chapter. So far, Megan’s favorite memory from Kappa Delta was the big/little reveal. She felt like she was really finding her family in KD. Megan says that her KD family pushes her to be the best version of herself and she is grateful for them every single day! We are so excited to make more memories with our sister, Megan Boyd! “If it weren’t for Kappa Delta I wouldn’t have a place to come to and be my true and complete self.” -Megan Boyd

Lindsey Wurz

MAY'S KD LADY OF THE MONTH

Lindsey is a Junior studying Communications and Art History and she is a part of the Alpha/Founding Class of Kappa Delta’s Theta Nu chapter! She has been heavily involved with KD holding positions on the Health and Wellness committee - the past 2 years as the co-chair of the committee, the Chair for International Women’s Friendship Month (IWFM), and a member of the Bid Day Committee. Some things that Lindsey is passionate about include: museums (“They are educational, full of culture and inclusion”), mental health and lending an ear and smiling face to those who need it, learning - whether that be from books or listening to podcasts, and concerts and music! When asked why Lindsey chose to attend Purdue University, she replied: “Because of my dad and growing up going to football games (literally from infancy to now!). When I was looking at other schools, I was searching for a sense of comfort. I also found that Purdue had a great Exploratory Program that was well-known for putting students into a major that they will enjoy and not set their graduation date back - Purdue helped me find what I wanted to do!” A few of her favorite things to do on campus include going to Vons, Greyhouse, running around campus to relieve stress - this has been the best way for her to discover campus and especially loves running past the big sun/solar system structure in Discovery Park! Finally, what Lindsey is looking forward to this summer (which is less than 2 weeks away now!!) is working at a museum in Chicago and studying abroad in Amsterdam! Fun questions: What movie would you never watch twice? A Very Murray Christmas One item on your bucket list? Sundance Film Festival or SxSW Festival Current theme song of your life? Drops of Jupiter by Train (started at age 3)
